About Us.

Granite State Automation was founded in 2008 by Jonathan W. Major. After a long career with Johnson Controls, Jon set out on his own with the goal of bringing a more personal touch to building automation. Jon's customer-based approach yielded a massive response from customers and filled a much-needed void in the New Hampshire building automation market, laying the foundation for more than a decade of success. That success led to the founding of Bay State Automation in 2016, allowing Granite State Automation to focus solely on our New Hampshire customers.

The Granite State Automation Team.

Jonathan W. Major, President

Jon has a lengthy controls background: 12 years with Johnson Controls, two years with Northeast Temperature Controls, two years as a commissioning agent and more than a decade as the President of Granite State Automation. Jon is also a Navy veteran, a regular volunteer at the Live and Let Live Farm in Chichester, NH, an avid outdoorsman and loves skydiving.

Marc Laflamme, Building Automation Engineer, Estimator, Master Electrician

Besides being a Building Automaton engineer with more than a decade of experience, Marc is also a Master electrician and our resident KMC Controls expert. Marc started his controls career as an application engineer and has since expanded to the estimating, managing, installation, programming, and commissioning of controls projects. When not working, Marc enjoys not being hit by cars.

Ken Tinnin, Operations Manager

Ken is the company "jack of all trades" managing service requests, accounts payable/accounts receivable and marketing duties, as well as providing administrative and logistical support to customers and employees. Ken is also a Marine Corps veteran and part-time guitar teacher who enjoys teaching students how to be real guitar heroes, not just virtual ones.
